Katherine Sweetman is a content creator with work distributed in major film festivals throughout the world including Rencontres Internationales; broadcast on major TV outlets including Cox, Brighthouse Networks and Time Warner; shown in galleries and museums including The Getty Center, Los Angeles. From 2009-2014 she produced, directed and edited 3D and 4k content for film and television distribution at Passmore Lab, where she created and directed the award wining series, Road to the Cage 3D, a tell-all sports documentary series on amateur cage fighting and a short form series Extreme Culture 3D. Katherine sometimes moonlights as an adjunct university instructor teaching courses on visual culture and media at colleges and universities including The University of California, San Diego; San Diego State University; and California State University, San Marcos and more. Katherine has an MFA in Visual and Performing arts from the University of California, San Diego, a BA in Arts and Technology from California State University, a certificate from the New School University, and a second MFA in Film and TV Production from The School of Cinematic Arts, University of Southern California. More: She has worked professionally in content creation for over a decade and participated in a variety of areas of production: -Directing and selling a documentary series on amateur cage fighting to Comcast/Time Warner/Brighthouse Networks -- Road to the Cage. -Directed/shot a documentary film in Vietnam with the Ho Chi Minh Circus about a bipolar aerialist -- High Flying Jade. -Co-writing a recently produced narrative feature film -- The Adventures of Thomasina Saywer. -Directing and Creating a short form 3D series for PassmoreLab -- Extreme Culture. -Working professionally in VFX for shows like Ray Donovan and The Orville -- see: vfx reel. -Directing, Developing and Editing pitch pilots, sizzle reels and teasers for a number of companies on topics like: strippers, penguins, the fashion industry in Paris. -Creating Video Gallery and Museum experiences and video installations 2008-2014 -Collaborating on Activist Art Projects like installing a "Freephone" in Tijuana for migrants to use after begin deported. -Directing/shooting a behind the scenes SXSW Rockumentary on Black Needle Noise collective. -Touring Jamaica as corporate videographer with Canon Directing, Editing, Director of Photography/Camera Op reels availabe upon request.

Her latest documentary film, High Flying Jade, is touring film festivals now, winning awards, and being considered for network funding as a series on Extraordinary Women.
