e-faux AKA The Infinity Lab does e-flux (2008)
largest art-world targeted spamming project of its kind, information dissemination, and website spoof (our e-faux and their e-flux)

The Twelve Days of e-faux: After numerous emails to e-flux went unanswered and ignored, The Infinity Lab took it upon themselves to create their own major email list in order to promote their work. e-faux is possibly the largest art-world targeted spamming project of its kind (second only to e-flux of course!) and it took approximately twelve days to email the entire harvested e-list.

The size and importance of our list compares to the 40,000-strong e-flux mailing list and here's how we did it:

Say you want people at LACMA to see your website or invite them to your show...

Go to Google and type in:   "*@LACMA.ORG"

The "quotation marks" around a phrase will give you answers that include that string of letters only.

The * (the star symbol) is the best part of the formula! To Google, the star symbol (*) will act like a variable finder. The results will bring back emails of people in the LACMA organization (ex: JohnDoe@LACMA.ORG). The LACMA.ORG part can be substituted for any almost website (GETTY.ORG, MOCA.ORG, ... , etc.)

Try it!
